1 Full-Day Course (9am - 5pm) Powers of Arrest, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Security Officer Training & Application Process
This course is for persons interested in becoming security officers in the State of California. The course is required in order to apply and receive a Guard Card. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and provide a valid, current CA driver's license along a social security number. Course will include additional instruction in report writing, post orders and the proper way to wear a uniform. The course also includes the application process through the BSIS, fingerprinting and background check. Once the course is completed, if there are no mitigating circumstances in the applicants background, and if the BSIS is adequately staffed, license should clear and be posted to the internet in about 10-14 business days. Once posted, the applicant is able to work as a licensed security officer in the state of California. The actual license will be mailed to the security officer's address on the application.

| In addition to the initial licensing, all security officers are to complete an additional 32 hours of training (16 hours within 30 days of the date of licensure or employment and 16 hours within 6 months of the date of licensure or employment). Also, 8 hours of Continuing Education is required every year after the first years. Several self-study, interactive courses are available.

Course Schedule, Location, Registration & Payment

Classes are held at our office in Windsor, CA. The initial licensing courses are available Tuesday through Thursday by appointment. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required in order to reserve your space. The deposit will be applied to your final payment. Once we receive your deposit, you will be scheduled for a class. You may reschedule a class one time only at no additional charge. Additional requests to reschedule will result in a $15 non-refundable rescheduling fee, per reschedule. Final non-refundable payment of $182 is due when the course begins. You may bring this to class. Refresher courses are self-study format, require full payment in advance of receiving materials and are non-refundable. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, VISA or Mastercard only.
